And the fact that Delve has absolutely NO end as in you can dive deeper forever infinite to the point where even BIS can no longer be enough, is just insanely impressive. And the fear of darkness closing in on me keeps me on the edge of my seat. I am a huge fan of delving the excitement of finding that secret room and blowing up that wall with dynamite to get to the secret chest is one of the most rewarding things. The skills tied to skill gems and sockets with links is what makes the LEGO sandbox system possible in POE and why no other ARPG can compete with it’s diverse and unique builds.Īs for End Game POE has tons of them to choose from, if you don’t like shaper you can delve. However i do think the graphics and movement are a bit more polished in Diablo. I like the high complexity and depth, I dislike the endgame combat, I also dislike that the skill gems are tied to item sockets (very positive that they are changing that in the 2.0 release), and the flask system is just spammy and bad. Overall for me POE is a clear winner on almost every front compared to Diablo 3. no-trade than PoE or any Diablo game has ever done.īut yea, calling D4 a PoE knock off has to be trolling. Also their upcoming trade system and factions are a much better approach to trade vs. Some players even go as far as to mute the music in games like Path of Exile or even Diablo 3 to replace it with the Tristram riff in the background. That string instrument riff in Tristram remains to this day, Blizzard's most iconic music. If they were going to copy anyone’s stash system I wish they would have copied Last Epoch’s as it blows any Diablo game or PoE out of the water. Diablo 2's composers utilized simple yet unconventional instruments often not seen in video game music. I’m not sure generic and boring stash system is really something anyone can claim ownership over since it’s done that way in so many games, including other Blizzard games that pre-date PoE. PoE forces people to do the entire campaign on every character which I believe Blizzard has stated won’t be the case in D4. Paragon boards are more similar to PoE’s skill tree than the actual skill tree, but even in those it’s still less complex and annoying to navigate than PoE’s skill system. Skill trees, a concept pre-dating PoE by many years including in multiple Blizzard games, are not remotely similar outside the extremely basic and generic “it’s a skill tree” observation. I hope they actually do let us just port to them. Book Of Demons Release Year: 2018 Platforms. ![]() Unless they changed it from closed beta you also have to walk to each dungeon and can’t just portal to them, which is a shame and kind of annoying. The build system here competes well with established Diablo 2 spiritual successors, such as Path of Exile. Nightmare Dungeons are perhaps in a very generic way similar to PoE maps, except there’s no atlas or similar system. It could use some additional end-game systems though, so hopefully D4 adds more over time. Diablo 3 or Grim Dawn is better than either of. ![]() None of the league mechanics or side activities PoE has adopted over the years appear to be present in D4. Diablo 2 is the closest game to Path of Exile that one can find. D4 doesn’t even have much crafting where it’s a dominant aspect of PoE.
